Cementitious
CRI has been reinstating fireproofing on steel structures, vessels, furnaces, boilers and tanks by removing expired and damaged fireproof protection and replacing it with new cementitious fire protection material. The bulk of these projects have been done on petrochemical refineries.
Our expertise encompass the supply and installation of the following cementitious fire protection systems.
Tekrok C - Fire Protective Plaster
An economically proven cement pre mix material for fireproofing structural columns and beams in commercial buildings or as a fire barrier system.
Tekrok C is a new generation fireproofing plaster for use in the Chemical and Petrochemical Industries. It has recently been modified using advanced chemical technology improving durability and workability. This plaster is a factory pre-mix product that can be trowelled or spray applied and has been officially tested by the SABS for 120-minute fire protection and is in compliance with the NFPA58 specification for flammable gas storage vessels.
APPLICATIONS:
Fire protection of Structural Steel
Fire protection of LPG Vessels
Fire protection of Vessel Skirts
Fire protection of cables and junction boxes

Tekrok Trowel Grade Plaster consists of vermiculite, cement, lime, mica and thixotropic chemical additives, which assist when trowelling.
Tekrok T.G is a modified form of Tekrok C through the addition of chemical additives. Tekrok T.G is used as a penetration seal for 120 minutes’ fire protection where material structural stability is required. Tekrok T.G plaster consists of Vermiculite, cement, lime, mica and thixotropic chemical additives which assist when trowelling. The plaster may only be applied by an approved specialist contractor for the use on structural steel and LPG Vessels in the Petrochemical Industry. Tekrok TG is specifically designed to meet the needs of Hydrocarbon and Chemical Processing Industries to withstand high thermal shock experienced in high intensity hydrocarbon fuelled fires.
APPLICATIONS:
Fire protection layer of interior Structural Steel
Packaging : 20 kg woven polypropylene bag with plastic liner Setting time : Minimum 45 minutes Maximum 5.5 hours Bulk Density Loose : 370 - 430 (g/ℓ) Dry density (in place) : 750 – 900 kg/m³ pH : 12 - 12.5 Thermal Conductivity (K-value) : 0.19 W/m°C @ 20°C Storage : Dry on pallets off ground
FIRE TESTS:
Tekrok Trowel Grade Plaster is specially designed to meet the needs of Hydrocarbon and Chemical Processing Industries to withstand high thermal shock experienced in high intensity hydrocarbon fueled fires. Fire tests have been carried out at the SABS testing facilities on Tekrok ‘C’ the only difference between this and Tekrok Trowel Grade is the additive. The Tekrok ‘C’ additive being a spray grade additive.
SPECIALITY USES:
Tekrok Trowel Grade Plaster may only be applied by an approved specialist contractor in possession of the required training and certification for the use on structural steel and LPG vessels in the petro-chemical industry.
HEALTH AND SAFETY:
Precautions to be observed are in line with normal handling procedures for cementitious products. Hands to be thoroughly cleaned after use of product.
Prolonged cement contamination is to be avoided. In cases where persons are particular allergic to cementitious products, gloves should be used.
A 16-point comprehensive Health hazards confirming to ISO9001:2008 standards is available on request. There are no known health hazards and Tekrok Trowel Grade Plaster does not contain asbestos.
Tekrok Cast
Tekrok Cast has been specially formulated as a cast-in place material. Tekrok Cast is used as an encasement for structural columns where fire protection as well as aesthetics are required.
